Welcome to Peru! Your South Peru Complete & Inca Trail Trek Tour begins in Lima. There are no scheduled activities today. Upon an arrival, please ask from the reception when the pre-departure meeting will be held.

Depending on your time of arrival, you can relax before the tour begins or enjoy some of the sights which the city has to offer: Plaza San Martin, one of the largest and most impressive squares in South America, the Cathedral and its Museum of Religious Art (US$3), the Inquisition Museum (free entrance), the 17th-century Monastery of San Francisco and its catacombs (US$3), the Gastronomy House (free), paragliding over the “Costa Verde” (US$60).

We will depart from Lima early in the morning to go Paracas, along the Pan-American Highway that runs parallel with the Pacific. The motorboat tour starts from the mole of Paracas, we will go to Ballestas islands and observe a variety of marine life. There is living a great variety of different sea bird species (pelicans, penguins and sea elephants) and in the sea, there is living a lot of plankton and fish. Then we will continue our journey to we Ica where we stop for a lunch.
In the afternoon we will visit El Catador and see the orchards and vineyards where local wine and Pisco sour (the national beverage) is produced. Then we will continue to Huacachina, the hidden oasis of the desert. Here you will have an opportunity to take a part of the sand-boarding and dune buggy tour. We will spend the evening at the desert to enjoy the amazing sun set.

The Nazca lines, ancient geoglyphs carved into the desert, are one of the most mystical highlights of Peru. It is thought the lines were made by three different civilisations: Paracas (900 -200 BC), the Nazca (200BC -600AD) and then new migrants from Ayacucho around 630AD. Although there is a viewing tower, the best way to see the Nazca lines is from the air: the optional flight provides amazing views of the “monkey”, “hummingbird”, “condor”, “spider” and even a “spaceman”.

After admiring the Nazca lines we will visit the pre-Inca cemetery of Chauchilla, the only archaeological site in Peru where you can see the mummies in their original setting: some of them are over 1,000 years old, and some of the other mummies still have their hair intact or soft tissue. For many years this place was looted by treasure hunters who left behind the corpses, lying all over the ground, along with human hair, ceramic fragments. In the afternoon we will take a bus to Arequipa where you will spend the night.

Free day in Arequipa, you can explore the beautiful colonial city by your own. You can visit the lovely central plaza and the stunning cathedral next to it. There are also a lot of good restaurants where you have a chance to try different local dishes. You can visit Santa Catalina Convent and explore the maze of the cobble stone streets. One popular attraction is the Museo Santury (also known as the Museo Universidad Catolica de Santa Maria) where is many well preserved mummies. You also have an option to visit the Yanahuara and Cayma miradors on a private tour with a guide, were you can enjoy stunning views of the volcanoes.

We will leave from Puno early in the morning to enjoy the beautiful journey on the bus: the road takes you high up into the Andes, where you will see abandoned towns; destroyed by earthquakes, typical fauna and flora of the region and the Pre-Inca farming terraces known as “Andenerias”. On an arrival to Chivay, you will take a stroll to the entrance of the Colca Canyon, which is said to be one of the deepest canyons in the whole world. If the weather permits it will be possible to visit the nearby hot springs in the afternoon.

The following morning, you will be transported to the Colca Valley to visit the famous Cruz del Condor (Condor’s Cross) vantage point, where you can observe condors which are majestically overflying the canyon. Then you will enjoy a gentle walk along the canyon’s edge. The road to Arequipa is also beautiful, on the way you can see the crater of an extinct volcano (Chucura), the famous volcano’s panorama (from 4.800m.a.s.l.), the snow-covered Chachani mountain and the Aguada Blanca National Park, natural habitat of the beautiful South American camelids (vicuñas, alpacas, guanacos and llamas). We will arrive to Arequipa in the late evening and spend the night there.

The morning starts with departing Puno for an overnight excursion. First we will visit the floating reed islands and see the Uros islanders’ way of the life. There will be an option to ride in the traditional reed boat before it is time to continue the excursion with a 3-hour boat ride to the island of Amantaní. After arriving to the island we will hike to the top of the mountain (4150m) to see the Temples of the Pachamama and Pachatata. Then you will be welcomed by the local Aymara/Quechua families and experience their hospitality by staying with them for the night. You will experience the local life with their traditional manners: food made in a traditional way and authentic music performed by the family. We recommend you to purchase gifts before leaving Puno to give for the families – they will greatly appreciate this gesture.

On the following day we will visit the neighbouring Taquile Island, where you will take a part of the our around the ruins and see another way of islanders’ life. The men are busy knitting distinctive woollen hats and the women are working on the fields. They are also world famous for their complicated and fascinating weavings. There will be an opportunity to buy some of these unique handicrafts. After the lunch we will return to Puno for the night.

We start our journey to Cusco early in the morning and on the way we will stop in Pukara village where lives one of the last surviving pre-Inca civilisation. We will continue our journey and visit the Inca sanctuary of Raqchi, then we will visit Andahuaylilas village. In the village we will see the impressive church of San Pedro, ‘Sistine Chapel’ of South America. When you look up at the ceiling and see the lavish painting, you will understand why it is called in this way. After arriving to Cusco you will have the rest of the evening free to enjoy the city.

We will go for a tour which presents the most important archaeological sites of Cusco. We start the tour at Tambomachay, the farthest site out of the city. From Tambomachay we will walk down to Puca Pucara, Kenko and lastly Saqsayhuaman, a grand fortress built on a hill with great view of Cusco. The site is characterised by huge blocks of stone, perfectly interlocked, some of which are over 9 metres tall and weigh more than 550 tons. After the tour of the archaeological sites we will go back to Cusco, down to the Plaza de Armas and you will take a part of the city tour of Cusco.  The first sight is the Cathedral. at the central square, this impressive building holds paintings from the Cusquenian School. Then we will visit the Santo Domingo monastery, ancient temple of the Sun, which is also known as Koricancha.

The rest of the day is free therefore you can enjoy the city by your own.

The Sacred Valley tour begins with a visit to the ruins of Pisac. The ruins are located on the top of the hill and the view is incredible. After climbing down from the ruins, on the market days you have a change to visit the famous, traditional market where you can buy souvenirs. We will eat lunch and continue to charming town of Ollantaytambo. Then you will catch a train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes where you will stay for a night.

We will pick you up from the hotel to take you by bus to Ollantaytambo, where you will catch a train to Aguas Calientes. After arriving to Aguas Calientes you will have time to explore the town by your own, for example you can enjoy your time at the hot springs. In the evening, around 7:30 pm you will have a meeting with the tour guide, who will explain the schedule of the following day.

The following day is the day to explore the lost city of Machu Picchu. You have two options to reach the entrance to Machu Picchu. One option is to hike and it will take 2-3 hours and the other option is to catch a bus and it will take around 35 minutes (the bus ticket is not included). At the entrance to Machu Picchu, you will be greeted by the guide, who will tell you about the history of Incas and guide you through the ruins of Incas, showing you the most important places and describing their purposes during the Inca Empire. It will be a fascinating lesson of history and culture of the Inca Empire connected with the enjoyable walk surrounded by the beautiful scenery. You will also have time for discovering this unique place on your own. You may stay in Machu Picchu until the maximum of 5 pm. From Machu Picchu to Aguas Calientes you will return your own. You can hike or you can take a bus (the bus ticket is not included). Be careful and remember that you need to be in Aguas Calientes at least 30 minutes before the departure of your train to Ollantaytambo. You can relax and enjoy the evening there.

After an early breakfast, we will visit the temple fortress of Ollantaytambo, it is possible to admire impressive Inca terraces next to it which are constructed on the side of a steep mountain.. After exploring Ollantaytambo we will continue to Maras where we will visit the salt mines, “Salineras”. The salt is still produced in the same way as 500 years ago. Next we will visit Moray and you will see the unique laboratory of Incas which is consisting many experimental terraces, it is considered as a prototype of a green house. Our last stop of the day is Chinchero, the “rainbow city”, where we will visit the ruins and  then we will return to Cusco for the evening.

Today your grand Coast, Sacred Valley and Titicaca Tour  comes to an end; yYou will be taken to the airport and you will catch a flight to Lima which is the last part of the tour. If you want to stay longer in Peru and explore more, please contact us.

We have bilingual guides with extensive knowledge of the history and geography of the Peru and the areas where they are working. The lodging or accommodations can be done in private or shared rooms depending on the purchased package. We also have vegetarian meals for travelers who request previously for this option.

It is noteworthy that the train ticket is subject to last minute changes (high season). Therefore we recommend booking the tour in advance to avoid unnecessary risks.

Important note
Some details of the tour may change depends on the weather conditions, physical condition of the participants and other unpredictable things, like for example strikes.


There is a discount of USD $ 20 for college students with the ISIC card. To get the discount we need to receive the scan of ISIC card on email, during booking process and you have to bring the original, valid ISIC card with you for the trip. Without valid ISIC card, which you will have to show in the entrance gate to Machu Picchu, you will not get permission to entrance for this archaeological complex and you will lose the possibility to explore the ruins.

There is also a discount of USD $ 20 for Peruvians and another $ 10 for Peruvian university students. Peruvian citizens have to indicate DNI number in the booking form and have to bring valid DNI for the tour. Peruvian students have to send scan of student card during booking process and bring valid document with them for the tour. In both above mentioned situation, if they do not show the valid DNI and student card in the entrance gate to Machu Picchu, will not get permission to entrance for this archaeological complex and will lose the possibility to explore the ruins.
